NMCI has been randomly switching people between the East and West servers.  So, if you previously worked on one and it is not working now, try the other one.

Apple users may need to try this idea found here

Please be aware, many Mac users are unable to access the Navy's version of Office 365.  I have no fix for you other than to find a Windows computer, if the idea above does not work.

Coast Guard:

NOTE:  If your account has been migrated to Office 365, then the link above is no longer valid.  You must now use VMware Horizon to access your email.  Consult with your unit for more information.  See: for more information

If you have a Common Access Card (CAC) reader, it is possible to check your government email at home.  I do this all of the time and it saves me a ton of time. Here is some information which was posted on Air Force Portal.

Office 365 Webmail

Published: Tue, Jan 1, 2019

Users with email/webmail issues should contact their local communications focal point (CFP) for assistance or submit a ticket in vESD.

Office 365 Webmail Links

  • Internal means you are on your government computer on the Air Force Network (AFNet) whether on base or using the VPN.
  • External means you are on a personal computer or a government computer not on the AFNet and not using the VPN.
  • The Cloud Hosted Enterprise Services (CHES) team recommends any Office 365 webmail user review the CHES End User Guide and Outlook O365 Troubleshooting Guide.
  • Link for reporting issues accessing Office 365 can be found in Air Force Portal post.
  • For Office 365 users experiencing their webmail not loading after clicking on the DoD warning banner page, you may want to try running Internet Explorer in version 10 in emulation mode. To run emulation mode, hit the F12 key and then click on the emulation tab. Change the value in “User agent string” to “Internet Explorer 10”. Then hit the F12 key or the X in the top right corner of the F12 developer tools window to exit.

Remote Access Capability - Outlook Web Access (OWA)

Outlook Web Access (OWA): Primary option for users needing only email access. Requires AFNet account, CAC reader, personal or government computer.

Internal to AFNet:

  1. Open browser (Edge/Chrome), go to site:
  2. Select the email certificate to access your email via the internet

External to AFNet:

  1. Open browser (Edge/Chrome), go to site:
  2. Select the email certificate to access your email via the internet

1) S/MIME software is required to open encrypted email in OWA for both home and work computers. This was previously pushed to AFNet devices for Edge/Chrome, and requires manual installation for personal devices. Of note, there is not an S/MIME solution for Chrome home use.

2) For additional information see SMIME Instructions:
