Super Saiyan Rosé (サイヤロゼ,Sūpā Saiya-jin Roze) is a form that can only be accessed by Goku Black which matches Super Saiyan Blue in strength.
In the anime, this form is the divine version of the first Super Saiyan form, while in the manga, this form is the Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan form of a Saiyan with divine status.
Concept and creation
The Super Saiyan Rosé form was created by author Akira Toriyama uniquely for Goku Black, though he simply stated Goku Black could "Become a Super Saiyan like Goku, and a Super Saiyan of a slightly different color than Goku".
"Huh? Pink? Why is it pink?"
In the anime, this state is identical to the first Super Saiyan form as well as Super Saiyan Blue in all but color: Black's hair takes on a pastel pink color with faint white highlights, with his eyebrows matching the color of his hair, and his eyes change to light gray. The aura is a very dark shade of red on the outside, but transitions into a more pinkish color on the inside; while the aura is present, Black's clothing becomes brighter, while his eyes appear as pink and the color of his hair and eyebrows become a slightly darker shade of pink (due to him being illuminated by the aura) and he acquires a dark purple glow around his body. Usage of this form also appears to greatly augment Black's techniques, including his Super Black Kamehameha and his signature Violent Fierce God Slicer, allowing him to extend it into various more elaborate shapes; his other techniques also change their usual appearance to match the form's coloration.
In the manga, the form is differentiated from Super Saiyan Blue in the same way as the anime. The aura is more jagged and flame-like than the aura of Super Saiyan Blue. In a close up of Goku Black, his hair looks spikier, however, this is the case for all characters who are zoomed in on, as a result, some have mistakenly stated that the hair spikes up and changes more than it actually does.
When Goku Black merged with Future Zamasu with the Potara earrings while in the Super Saiyan Rosé form to become Fused Zamasu, and later (in the manga) transitions into Infinite Zamasu, the result is a being who is constantly and permanently in the Super Saiyan Rosé form, due to fusions created with Potara Earrings automatically assuming the transformed state(s) the fusees were in at the time of the merger, and the resulting fusion being unable to power down from that form. In Fused Zamasu's case, the resulting fusion possessed white hair, instead of the pastel pink color that Goku Black and Crimson-Masked Saiyan possess while in the form.
Because Super Saiyan Rosé serves as Black's equivalent to Super Saiyan Blue, it utilizes god ki; as such, it is theorized by Future Zamasu that this form is pink in color due to it being the result of a deity surpassing Super Saiyan God (with Blue being the result of a mortal surpassing it).
Usage and Power
"So this is what happens when a Divine being surpasses Super Saiyan God, instead of turning blue they turn pink."
The January 2017 issue of V-Jump ranked both Goku Black and Fused Zamasu in this form as a 12/12 on the danger scale.
In the manga, as it is a Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan form, this state is achieved in the same manner as its mortal counterpart. Goku Black achieved the form when his power as a Super Saiyan surpassed Super Saiyan God, naturally evolving his Super Saiyan form into Super Saiyan Rosé. In the anime, he gained the form by simply integrating Goku's fighting style into his own. The Dragon Ball Super anime and Dragon Ball Fusions do not refer to it as a Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan form, instead referring to it as the divine version of the first, standard Super Saiyan form.
This form, like its mortal counterpart, provides Black with the precise ki control needed to properly utilize, and maintain, this form. Unlike its mortal counterpart though, the ki control of Super Saiyan Rosé is so precise and efficient (due to Black's status as a divine being) that this allowed him to create various weapons of energy at will. Unlike Super Saiyan Blue, which needed additional training to fully master it, this form does not display any sort of stamina decrease. Goku Black is shown using the form as much as he wants with no drawbacks, possibly because he already mastered Goku's power and also because he was born a divine being, and all he needs to do is keep increasing his power in this form. This form also appears to have no impact on the amount of time that Fused Zamasu can remain fused, unlike Super Saiyan Blue Vegito - who defused well before an hour had passed.
In the anime, Black first revealed Super Saiyan Rosé in his battle against Vegeta, Goku, and Future Trunks. Black was assaulted by Vegeta as a Super Saiyan Blue and withstood his vicious assault before ultimately impaling him through the chest with his energy blade. He then fought against Goku when he transformed into a Super Saiyan Blue; Goku was able to hold his own, but Black used his energy blade to pressure Goku. Once his ally Future Zamasu held down Goku and Trunks long enough, Black was able to take them both down with a single blast of the Black Kamehameha, which the Saiyans barely survived. In the Super manga, Goku Black attains this form by having his regular Super Saiyan form evolve into it: by powering up massively due to recovering (and having Future Zamasu heal the damage) from a near-death experience, Goku Black's ordinary Super Saiyan form powered up and then evolved into the Super Saiyan Rosé.
Black later shows off this form to Future Zamasu, to show that he does not need immortality and his strength is already satisfying as is.
Fused Zamasu possessed a permanent Super Saiyan Rosé state, due to Black having remained in this form when he fused with Future Zamasu via Potara. Fused Zamasu, like Goku Black, has grey eyes while in the Super Saiyan Rosé form, however, he has white hair, and in the anime, a colorful white aura in this form. Fused Zamasu's white hair in the Super Saiyan Rosé state was presumably inherited from his fusee Future Zamasu, who himself, has white hair.
In the manga, both Goku Black and Future Zamasu are able to independently transform into Fused Zamasu, and thus possess this state. Infinite Zamasu has access to this form since the entity is simply a mutated version of Fused Zamasu.
Under any normal circumstances, living in a permanent powered-up state of this magnitude would be incredibly stressful and would drastically shorten the fused being's lifespan; but, due to Future Zamasu's immortality, this problem may be nonexistent. Of course, it is ambiguous: after the fusion, Zamasu's body in the anime does not regenerate in the same way it used to, due to Black's body not being immortal; he also loses energy at a rapid rate, a trait caused by being in a permanent powered-up state. In the manga, however, due to Fused Zamasu fully retaining his immortality, he does not suffer any decrease in power and was capable of lasting long enough to undergo the usual hour time limit of Potara Fusions for those who aren't officially considered Supreme Kais.
"Anger towards the mortals who defile the universe. Anger towards the other gods who had tolerated such behavior. And most importantly, the white-hot rage I feel towards myself...for letting you get the upper hand on me in our battle."
In the anime, Black is able to power up the Super Saiyan Rosé form through rage, becoming Super Saiyan Rosé (Enraged). He utilized his anger towards Humans to attain this state and used it to combat rage empowered Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta. With this power, his weapon forging abilities evolved once more as he created the Sickle of Sorrow; capable of - with some help from his Time Ring - creating a rift capable of spawning several "clones" of himself or in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 can create time anomalies strong enough to summon forth entities with ki similar to Black's.
In the manga, Fused Zamasu can push his power in this form to the point where his body cannot handle it and thus take on a Powerhouse state - which Vegeta compares to the Perfected Super Saiyan Blue and notes that Fused Zamasu's body will be damaged from the overflowing even power despite his immortality.
There are also several powered up variations of Super Saiyan Rosé.

Though the form cannot be obtained by the Saiyan Future Warrior (as they gain the Super Saiyan Blue form) in Xenoverse 2 there is a Super Saiyan Rosé Wig accessory which can be obtained as a completion reward for taking part in the Raid Quest: "Zero Mortal Plan". Alternatively, the wig can randomly be obtained from Goku by giving him Gift (Goku) after unlocking his special costume for Partner Customization, though they may randomly receive a piece of the Golden Turtle Hermit Gi instead.
"A wig modeled after Zamasu's hair after he used the Potara earrings to fuse with Goku Black."
Additionally, Fused Zamasu's version of Super Saiyan Rosé has its own accessory called Fused Zamasu Wig which can be obtained as a completion reward for taking part in the Raid Quest: "Demented Deity".
Interestingly, despite the form's Godly ki which normally makes one immune to the effects of Dark Magic, Super Saiyan Rosé Goku Black can utilize the Supervillain power-up a trait which he shares with Future Zamasu and Fused Zamasu who both are able to utilize the Supervillain power-up. However, it is implied that they may have cast the spell on themselves as Grotesque Zamasu is apparently able to activate the power-up when he struggles with Future Trunks as they cross swords in order to overpower him. Alternatively, they are allowing themselves to be empowered by the spell.
In Xenoverse 2 as part of the Extra Pack 2 DLC's Infinite History Saga, Captain Ginyu can steal Goku's body from Black while it is in Super Saiyan Rosé form using his Body Change technique while working alongside the Future Warrior as their selected Partner. Despite being a mortal and not a proper deity, Ginyu retains Black's Super Saiyan Rosé form due to him being already transformed when Ginyu swapped bodies with him and does not need to get used to Goku's body as he had stolen it previously, thus allowing him to utilize its full power which is further enhanced by it still being in Super Saiyan Rosé form. A similar scenario can occur outside the main story if the Future Warrior uses Body Change on Super Saiyan Rosé Goku Black.
Humorously, it is suggested by a Conton City Radio broadcast from Caulifla and Kale after the 1.10.00 Update DLC, that Kale would prefer the Super Saiyan Rosé form, as Kale gets into a discussion with Caulifla about Super Saiyan Blue and despite being unaware of Super Saiyan Blue actually has a pink variation, she states she would prefer her Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan form's hair to be pink rather than blue and even passionately insists pink would be better shocking Caulifla with how serious she is. Ironically, Kale herself is unaware a pink version already exists in the form of Super Saiyan Rosé, due to her and Caulifla only being familiar with Super Saiyan Blue thanks to Vegeta and Goku.
In Super Dragon Ball Heroes: World Mission, Ahms takes on this state after absorbing Goku Black.
- The form was revealed to the world before it made its initial appearance in the anime due to a merchandise leak on Amazon Japan.
- Future Zamasu gives a possible explanation of the form's color being due to a Saiyan possessing a proper divine status when they surpass Super Saiyan God, implying that it is likely that Goku, Vegeta, Vegito, or any mortal Saiyan Beyond God, could have obtained this form instead of Super Saiyan Blue had they been in the position of a divine being, such as Guardian (a position which Kami had once offered to Goku) or God of Destruction (as Whis considers them both to be candidates to replace Beerus if he were to die) when they surpassed Super Saiyan God. It should be noted that Goku Black attained this form due to the fact that he was originally Zamasu, the North Kai of Universe 10.
- Fused Zamasu's, along with Infinite Zamasu's Super Saiyan Rosé forms possess white hair and have white auras, rather than the light pink hair and reddish/pink/purple aura that Goku Black has when he transforms into a Super Saiyan Rosé. The reason for this is never stated or even implied in either the Dragon Ball Super anime or manga.
- In Xenoverse 2, it is shown that mortals capable of using Body Change can utilize this form if they steal someone's body while it is transformed into the Super Saiyan Rosé form, allowing them to utilize the form despite not being proper deities, thus explaining why Ginyu isn't Super Saiyan Blue after stealing Goku's body from Black (as Goku had acquired Super Saiyan Blue form before his body was stolen by Zamasu/Black) despite Ginyu himself being a mortal. It is also stated by Ginyu that his past experience with Goku's body allows him to utilize its power without the need to get accustomed to it.
- This also occurs if the Warrior utilizes Body Change on Super Saiyan Rosé Goku Black, though this can only occur outside of the game's narrative and it should be noted that this applies to all transformed characters as a result of game mechanics.
- However, it is unclear if they would retain it were they to revert to base form, or if they would transform into Super Saiyan Blue instead due to not being proper deities.
- In Dragon Ball FighterZ, Goku Black immediately assumes this form for every battle (as he's not playable in his base form).
- Sean Schemmel interprets this form as more of "the Zamasu power" channeling through "Black" when he assumes this form, which is why in the English dub his voice changes to closely match Zamasu's. This interpretation could potentially fall in line with statements made by Black in the manga that the Saiyan Power allowed his soul to become one with Goku's body, immediately before turning Super Saiyan Rosé. However, there has been much controversy with this statement, as Zamasu's intent is to become one with Goku, becoming more like Goku and less like Zamasu.

Dragon Ball Wraps Goku Black's Super Saiyan 3 Storyline
Super Dragon Ball Heroesdoesn't just create new characters in this spin-off series, but it also has brought back villains from the earlier days of both Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball Super, with Goku Black being the biggest opponent for Goku and Vegeta at the moment. With the twisted doppelganger revealing his new transformation of Super Saiyan 3 Rose in the earlier episodes of the Space-Time War, it seems that this battle between Saiyans has come to a close with Goku and Vegeta deciding to once again fuse into the being known as Gogeta.
With Goku and Vegeta finding themselves trapped in a new universe created by the mad scientist Fuu, the Saiyan Z Fighters not only have been battling against the likes of Goku Black, but several returning villains from the past of the Shonen series. In this latest episode of Heroes, we witness the spin-off throwing everything and the kitchen sink into the mix with the likes of Freeza, Cooler, Cumber, and even Omega Shenron of Dragon Ball GT fame making an appearance. Despite this mish-mash of villains, Goku Black still reigned supreme in terms of overall power, forcing Goku and Vegeta to quickly pull off the fusion dance in order to fight the doppelganger as Gogeta.
When Goku Black returned in Heroes, he was attempting to pull off his "Goku Elimination Plan," which saw him eliminating Sons from different realities in an attempt to master his own body, allowing him to reach this new Super Saiyan 3 level. Though the twisted form of Zamasu lost the power of the Time Mask, he was still able to heal his wounds thanks to absorbing the power of the new universe, but ultimately was defeated by the insane strength of Super Saiyan Blue Gogeta.
With Gogeta delivering a devastating blow to Goku Black, it's unclear if the villainous doppelganger was able to survive this encounter or if he will return at a future time. With Super Saiyan 3 Rose already explored, perhaps the antagonist will return with a Super Saiyan 4 twist on the insanely powerful transformation.0comments

"I look down on existence from a much higher perspective than you do. I witness this world, this universe and the truth of all things. That yields deeper understanding. Wisdom. The realization that all mortals should be destroyed. The one and only mistake among all divine creation. That is what mortals are. And this mistake is egregious. To shape existence into the beautiful utopia it was always meant to be, the mistake must be corrected. I will purge all mortals from existence...In place of the gods WHO REFUSE TO ADMIT FAILURE!!"

Unofficial Supreme Kai (manga only)
Goku Black (ゴクウブラック,Gokū Burakku), usually referred to as Black, is the main antagonist of the "Future" Trunks Saga of Dragon Ball Super. His true identity is Zamasu (ザマス,Zamasu) from the unaltered main timeline within Universe 10. He is a former North Kai and Supreme Kai apprentice serving his former master Gowasu.
Goku Black visited Universe 6, went to the Super Dragon Balls from the unaltered main timeline within that universe, summoned Super Shenron from said timeline, wished to switch bodies with Goku from the unaltered main timeline within Universe 7, and Super Shenron granted Goku Black's wish. Goku Black sought to destroy all mortals alongside Future Zamasu. He was then given the name "Goku Black" by Future Bulma when he initially referred to himself as Goku.
Concept and creation
It was revealed in an interview with Akira Toriyama that the inspiration for Goku Black originated from the "copy of the hero" idea in media such as "False Ultra Man" of the Ultraman series or "False Kamen Rider" of the Kamen Rider franchise.
His original appearance is the same as his future timeline counterpart, being an above-average height Kai of slim built and green skin, and with a white Mohawk. However, after killing his former master, Gowasu, he wore his matching set of green with gold chains Potara earrings. After Goku Black's wish to switch bodies with Goku from the unaltered main timeline within Universe 7 was granted by Super Shenron from the unaltered main timeline within Universe 6, the Saiyan body underwent some physical changes. While Goku Black is still essentially identical, he has a slightly darker skin tone and more "defined" eyes, along with a somewhat skinnier physique. His hair is also a noticeably dark shade of black with only four front spikes and three back ones. While initially wearing his Supreme Kai attire, he soon after his wish to switch bodies with the Saiyan was granted began wearing a dark grey vest, a long-sleeved black undershirt with a turtleneck, a red sash, black pants and pointy white boots. He also gave the right Potara earring to his future counterpart while still wearing the other earring on his left ear. In the anime, he also wears a Time Ring on his right index finger, while in the manga, his counterpart is entrusted with wearing it. Also, in the manga, he has thick black outlines around his eyes, similar to those who fell under the control of Babidi's Manipulation Sorcery.
Before acting on his dark impulses, as Zamasu, he was a calm and patient individual, willing to listen to his teacher's words. However, he long harbored an utter hatred for mortals, perceiving them as a blasphemy and the gods' greatest mistake. He also came to hate the gods as well for not doing anything about their "mistake". After giving in to his desires, Zamasu mercilessly killed his former master as his first step down a dark path. Despite his cruel, aggressive, and certainly unsympathetic actions, even to his own kind, Zamasu feels perfectly vindicated, truly seeing no evil in his actions, after he scoured several timelines as proof that mortals are a corruption of existence as a whole that prevents it from becoming a true paradise. He also believes that humanity has only continued to exist for all this time because the gods are too prideful to acknowledge their failure in creating mortals. Also, rather than using the Super Dragon Balls from the unaltered main timeline within Universe 6 to wish for mortals to be exterminated, he preferred to wish to switch bodies with Goku from the unaltered main timeline within Universe 7, displaying his infatuation with the Saiyan. This also seems to suggest that he wanted to destroy mortals by himself, as he believed that it was his own responsibility as if he were the Supreme God.
He became much more emotional upon his wish to switch bodies with the Saiyan being granted, and Zamasu becoming Goku Black, gaining many opposite characteristics to his host body's personality. Like his future counterpart, he is extremely sadistic, callous, bloodthirsty, and hypocritical, as seen when he kills Bulma, along with the vast majority of the Earthlings, believing it to be "justice", despite his blood-lusting delight in it and his delight in the anger of Goku from the main timeline within Universe 7 over him killing Chi-Chi and Goten from the unaltered main timeline within said universe. Goku Black showed a sense of brutality and certainly ruthless savagery, when he coldly tortures his foes/target, hoping to extend the pain and suffering, as shown when he fractured Future Trunks' arm and shoots a barrage of ki blasts at his defenseless opponent. However, he retains his past self's politeness and is shown to be graceful during his first fight with Goku as Black. Also somewhat of a masochist, Black is shown to revel in others inflicting pain on himself, both from his newfound passion for battle and personal drive to grow stronger from every attack that strikes his new body. This trait seems to have been drawn somewhat from Goku from said timeline within said universe. In addition, Goku Black appears to be somewhat unhinged, as he occasionally bursts into slightly deranged laughter, as shown when he fought Goku from the main timeline within said universe for the first time, and also due to his sudden shifts in mood, as seen when he explains his motivation for wiping out mortals. While willing to kill regardless, he prefers and desires to fight strong opponents, even going as far as holding back his full power in order to further enjoy a fight, always keeping it just ahead of his opponent's. Black also shares the sense of determination of Goku from the unaltered main timeline within said universe, never letting up on a goal once he sets his mind on it, as he vowed to find Future lTrunks after he escaped to the past. He also shares Goku's sense of general independence, wishing to grow stronger through his own personal effort rather than taking shortcuts. This shows a distinct difference to his counterpart. Unlike Future Zamasu, who views immortality as an ideal trait worthy of a god, Black openly stated his disinterest in such a power. Also, he is somewhat vain, as when he first revealed his Super Saiyan Rosé form, he described it as beautiful, towering above "the whole universe", and stated to Goku that he should rejoice, as he had reached the height of beauty by his hand.
In the manga, however, Black's personality was drastically different from his anime counterpart. While Black in the anime always manages to stay calm and never lose his composure, even when losing a battle, Black in the manga is more prone to losing his composure the moment things do not go his way. This was shown when he was losing his battle against Vegeta from the main timeline within said universe, where he breaks down in a fit of rage. The difference in their personality is also reflected in their contrasting fighting styles. Black in the anime performs his attacks with a sense of finesse and flamboyance. Black in the manga, however, prefers to use brute force alone to overwhelm his enemies, taking a more aggressive fighting style. The difference in personalities is likely due to Black in the manga never meeting Goku personally prior to their encounter in the future timeline, and thus never had a personal connection with Goku. This ultimately resulted in none of Goku's traits such as a composed demeanor when fighting or his passion for battle. Similarly, his relationship with Future Zamasu in the manga was significantly different from that of the anime. In the latter, he and Future Zamasu genuinely considered each other as kindred allies, while in the manga, Goku Black considered Future Zamasu to merely be a pawn, while Future Zamasu likewise considered Black contemptible for forsaking his divine body, for the sake of power, and at one point, when they were on the ropes, they were even willing to turn on each other briefly. Black was also more sadistic in the manga, as evidenced when he not only proceeded to mortally wound the standard Gowasu when the latter attempted to talk sense into Goku Black, but also asked rhetorically while stabbing him whether Gowasu really thought it would have worked a "third time", referring to Gowasu's earlier attempts at talking him out of his plans.
Another interesting trait is one he and Future Zamasu share with each other, using the fact that Future Trunks violated the taboo of time travel as a justification for their morally questionable goal of exterminating all mortal life. They are also similar to Android 13 who likewise uses mortal failings to justify his goals.
Main article: Zamasu He and the Zamasu from the altered main timeline were originally the same entity. However, Future Trunks time travelling to the past altered the present, main timeline's original history, and Beerus destroying the Zamasu in the altered main timeline split the timeline. Thus, the Zamasu who became Goku Black is - or was - exactly the same individual, and has all of the same histories as the Zamasu from the altered present timeline prior to his destruction at Beerus' hand. Due to the powers of the Time Ring, the death of the present Zamasu from the altered main timeline, due to Beerus, did not affect him.
Zamasu was originally the North Kai of Universe 10. However, due to his prodigious fighting skill, he was selected to become a Supreme Kai-in-training under one of the current Supreme Kai, Gowasu. With his continuous distrust of mortals and growing dismay of the Kais' passive and indirect influence of the universe's development, he ultimately rejected his teachings and went rogue, developing his Project Zero Mortals. To which, his ultimate goal became to annihilate all mortals and gods in a specific timeline, then build up from there, to purge all mortals and gods from all of existence with it, making the multiverse in his perspective a "beautiful utopia", rid of the mortals who ruin it and the gods who do nothing to stop them. Requiring a Time Ring for his plans, Zamasu killed Gowasu and took his Potara to become a Supreme Kai, so he could wield the Time Ring.
For the next part of his plan, in the anime learning of Goku's might surpassing even the Supreme Kais, Zamasu went into the future with a Time Ring, gathered the Super Dragon Balls and wished to switch bodies with Goku. Upon his wish being granted he decided to erase all personal ties to Goku's past by killing Goku and his family, and took the name of Son Goku for himself. In the manga Zamasu swapped bodies with Monaka - the victor of the Tournament of Destroyers, however upon realizing that Monaka was, in fact, weak he swapped bodies with Goku instead.
Despite his newfound power, Zamasu needed to find a reality without a God of Destruction, still fearing their intrusion to his plans. With that being said, Zamasu began travelling to various parallel realities in search of someone with the ideal settings so he could act initially unnoticed. Eventually, he found one in Future Trunks' reality where the final Supreme Kai of Universe 7, Shin, was killed in a battle to defeat Babidi and Dabura, thereby killing Future Beerus due to the life-link. He also met his counterpart from that timeline, Future Zamasu, immediately allying with him shortly after killing Future Gowasu. The two then gathered the Super Dragon Balls and first wished for Future Zamasu to become immortal. They then travelled another year into the future to wish for the Super Dragon Balls to destroy themselves and stealthily annihilated all the Supreme Kais of that reality (which thereby killed the other Gods of Destruction) to leave their path of destruction unchallenged.
Beginning the main part of his plans, Zamasu travelled to many different planets and destroyed all life on them for "the sake of justice" under the name, "Son Goku". Upon his arrival on Earth, he goes on a rampage, his first attack causing half of mankind to be wiped out. Since his arrival, Zamasu became known as a terrifying warrior only known as Goku Black. Those who survived formed resistance cells, with Mai leading them. Trunks was also a huge aid to the resistance and many times came face to face with Black but would be unable to defeat him. At one point, Mai and the Resistance attempted to lead Black into an area rigged with remote-detonated explosives, but Black emerged unscathed. Trunks then confronted Black who then explained his motives for destroying humanity being his views of the human race as violent and corrupt and a failed creation of the Gods. Black effortlessly defeated Trunks but the Saiyan was able to escape with Mai when she blinded Black with a flash grenade.

"Future" Trunks Saga
Main article: "Future" Trunks Saga
"It's about time Saiyan. You've been running around making messes for too long and now I'm going to choke the life from you. I can't wait to watch you die."
Trunks survived their encounter and, for a year, prepares to travel back in time using a Time Machine with Bulma in an attempt to save the future. Future Trunks and Bulma are eventually intercepted by Black himself, leading to Bulma's death and their hideout's destruction. Trunks narrowly escapes with a canister holding enough fuel for a one-way trip back to the past while Black pursues him. Later, as Trunks and Mai arrive at Capsule Corporation, Black attacks them both, knocking out Mai and heavily injuring Trunks. An angry Future Trunks transforms into a Super Saiyan and engages Black in battle, but is easily beaten. As Future Trunks fires a Masenko, Black blocks the attack, but Trunks disappears. He then begins to sense for Future Trunks' ki, and spots Future Trunks about to leave in the time machine. Black fires a Kamehameha, but the attack narrowly misses as Future Trunks leaves, and Black realizes that Trunks' ki has completely disappeared from this world. Growing angry, Black vows to find Future Trunks as he has nowhere to run.
In the anime, while Black tries to figure out how Trunks escaped, a Time Ring that he wears has a sudden reaction which creates a portal to the past. After going through the portal, Black finds himself in the present timeline which he quickly spots Future Trunks and eventually introduces himself to Goku. When Black arrives in the past everybody's shocked that he looks exactly like Goku. Black then realizes that it was time travel and also seems to know Vegeta and the God of Destruction Beerus. Trunks, upon seeing him, is enraged and goes to fight him but he is stopped by Vegeta. Goku goes in his place, beginning to battle with Black. Black opens with the same golden-black ki sphere he attempted to use on Trunks. Goku blocks it while the force of the ki sphere knocks Goku into a rocky plateau. Goku powers up to Super Saiyan 2 and fights back. By sharing the fist blow with Goku, Black is amazed at Goku's power as a Super Saiyan 2 and gets excited against such a powerful opponent.
Now, Black powers up a little and releases his evil ki. Black then attacks Goku with several punches, eventually landing a hit on Goku in the abdomen and kicks him away, following up with a barrage of ki blasts. Trunks is confused as to why Goku is not using his Super Saiyan 3 powers when Vegeta explains Goku's bad habit of holding back his power during the beginning of battles. While the fight goes on, Black and Goku are evenly matched with both of them hiding their true power. Goku threatens Black, betting him that he'll be able to force out his doppelgänger's true power. Goku bolts and lands several punches until Black manages to throw Goku into another mountain.
While Black gloats, he feels a distortion in Time and Space. The distraction creates an opening for Goku, as he lands a sharp kick in Black's abdomen. Black, clearly damaged but delighted, claims that the pain will make him even stronger as he powers up even further. Black stops and throws a large ki blast at Goku, who managed to deflect it. Black then follows up with a kick to the Saiyan's head, which knocks him into the ground, forming a large crater in the process. As Black realizes the Time Machine's function after Future Trunks accidentally reveals it, Goku returns with full force and lands a sharp punch in Black's stomach. They both lock fists and go into a power struggle as the pull from the distortion gets stronger and Black pulls towards it, interrupting the fight. Before getting pulled back to his own timeline, Black destroys Trunks' Time Machine. During the battle, Beerus points out that Black is clearly not Goku, noting his ki feels strange and dark.
In the anime throughout the fight, the Time Ring attempts to pull him back to the future. Black attempts to resist its pull but is unable to. Before being pulled into the portal, Black fires a Ki blast at Trunks' Time Machine, destroying it, effectively stranding Trunks in the past. Upon returning to Future Trunks' time, he collapses from his injuries after his fight with Goku before regaining his composure. Black proceeded to test his power, using a Golden-Black ki sphere, causing it to grow bigger than its usual size before firing it, pleased at his increased power and integrating Goku's fighting style into his own. He also mocks that Trunks is now stranded in the present, leaving him free to terrorize the future as he pleases. With Trunks's departure, Black moves to attack the base of the resistance formed by the Earthlings, who struggle to defend it from him and are for the most part murdered by Black then and there, the few survivors having to flee and designate a new base.
After Trunks travels to the future with Goku and Vegeta, Black is surprised, given his destruction of Trunks' time machine, and confronts them, Black fights Vegeta who was able to secure a match with him first via a round of rock-paper-scissors with Goku. Black moves close to Vegeta, touching his neck in a show of his speed before Vegeta attacks him with a barrage of punches. Suddenly Vegeta stops, wondering what he just felt as Black slowly walks out of the crater and kicks Vegeta away not having taken any damage at all, though he is impressed by Vegeta's strength and offers to show him something as a "reward". Black then transforms into a form to resume fighting Vegeta, naming the form "Super Saiyan Rosé" in the spirit of Goku's naming pattern. Black mocks Vegeta, calling him the opening act before his fight with Goku. Enraged, Vegeta charges Black and unleashes another assault, but Black effortlessly avoids every punch. Black lands a mighty blow to Vegeta and prepares to finish him with another but Vegeta catches it and launches a counter-assault. Before Vegeta can land any real damage, Black quickly stops Vegeta by turning his aura into an energy blade and stabs Vegeta clean through the right side of his chest, mortally wounding him, acknowledging that Vegeta has strengthened him through their fight. He thanks Vegeta for the warm-up and tells him to know his place before pulling his blade out and allowing the injured Saiyan to fall to the ground, nearly dead, prompting Goku's entry into the brawl. The two fight evenly in the eyes of Future Trunks, though Vegeta determines that Black is overwhelming Goku. Black indeed does defeat Goku, but just as he prepares to fire a Kamehameha at him, Future Zamasu stops him as he arrives, recalling Black's prior promise to save killing Goku for him.
The two quickly conflict as Black insists that his body is yearning to fight Goku and battles him in an even match while Future Zamasu separately duels Trunks until Future Zamasu grabs hold of both Goku and Trunks to allow for Black to fire a beam at the pair which he does in the form of a Kamehameha, causing the two Saiyans to take damage. Black then joins with Future Zamasu in trying to fire at the pair, but their attack is stopped by Vegeta, allowing Goku and Trunks to escape. Black attempts to locate them by sensing their ki, but has trouble thanks to its faintness and being mixed among others.
In the meantime, Goku, Trunks, and Vegeta use a time machine to return to the past, which Black later is able to sense as it departs, failing to catch them, with Future Zamasu insisting that they would return.
In the manga, however, Black faces off against Super Saiyan 2 Vegeta, becoming a Super Saiyan to fight him. However, Vegeta manages to hold an advantage against Black and then further transforms into a Super Saiyan Blue and easily overwhelms Black, even after he transforms into a Super Saiyan to try to even the odds. Black states that he couldn't achieve the Super Saiyan Blue form, and is overwhelmed by Vegeta. When Vegeta is about to kill Black with his Final Flash, Black is saved by Future Zamasu. Future Zamasu heals Black, allowing him to receive a power-up from the near-death experience and causing his god mind and Saiyan body to become more connected. This allows Super Saiyan Black to fight on par with Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta, and after getting healed again, he gains yet another power up from his injuries and evolves into his Super Saiyan Rosé form. He then proceeds to face Vegeta while Future Zamasu faces Goku. Thanks to his new form, Black manages to hold an advantage over Vegeta and soon takes him down, and at the same time, Future Zamasu takes down Super Saiyan Goku. However, Future Trunks uses the Solar Flare to stop them in their tracks and the Saiyan trio manage to escape. Future Zamasu states that they will just have to wait for them, but Black locates Future Mai's energy and teleports to her. However, they fall into a trap, and Future Trunks takes Future Zamasu out of the fight by piercing through him with his sword. Black is then sent flying away by the empowered Trunks, as Black gets up, he witnesses Vegeta and Goku escaping in the Time Machine, but before he can attack with a ki blast, he finds himself being beaten back by Future Trunks. Due to Trunks' interference, Goku and Vegeta managed to escape back to the past, while Black tells Trunks to not get carried away before battling him.
In the anime, Black and Future Zamasu are seen at their cabin on a nearby mountain, waiting patiently for Goku's return to the future. Goku Black and Future Zamasu discuss about killing Goku and how they aren't strong enough as opponents. Future Zamasu says if Goku Black kills Goku too quickly, he'd lose an opportunity to grow stronger by adapting to his fighting style and insists that Black should wish for immortality, but Black refuses, stating that he was already satisfied having Goku's body and because of having Goku's cells running inside him, couldn't help but wanting to become stronger on his own.
Dragon Ball: 10 Facts You Didn’t Know About Super Saiyan Rosé
Super Saiyan Rosé is one of the many transformations that we've seen in the Dragon Ball Super series. This form is unique to one of the antagonists of the series, Goku Black, who appeared in the Future Trunks arc of the series. Just like any other Super Saiyan transformation, this one is a significant power multiplier, making Black strong enough to provide quite a difficult challenge for the likes of Goku and Vegeta.

Among a plethora of transformations in the series, the Super Saiyan Rosé has certainly raised quite a few questions in the minds of the fans. Here are 10 things that you probably didn't know about Super Saiyan Rosé.
10 Its Debut
The Super Saiyan Rosé form made its appearance in the series during the Future Trunks arc. In the anime, the form made its first appearance in "Rematch with Goku Black! Enter Super Saiyan Rosé!", which is the 56th episode of the Dragon Ball Super anime.
In the manga, the debut of this form came along during the fight against the Z Warriors in Chapter 20 of the same arc. The chapter itself was titled "The Zero Mortal Project". As the name suggests, it revealed to the fans the plans that Zamasu had for the mortals.
9 Its Users
Super Saiyan Rosé was the creation of Goku Black who showed off this form when fighting against Goku and Vegeta in the Future Trunks arc. Interestingly, despite the form being his creation, he certainly isn't the only user of this power.
Zamasu is also able to utilize its power, however, this is only possible since he fuses with Goku Black. In his case, the color and the aura of the form changes slightly. Instead of the rosy pink hair, Zamasu boasts white hair with a silver aura.
8 What This From Is
Super Saiyan Rosé is actually different in the manga than it is in the anime, due to some reason. In the anime, Goku Black explains that this form is simply him going Super Saiyan. The reason it gives off a different color is likely because of the God Ki in Goku Black.

However, in the manga, things are quite different. It has been mentioned in the manga that Super Saiyan Rosé is a type of Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan, aka Super Saiyan Blue form.
7 Its Creator
It's no secret that Akira Toriyama is heavily involved in the production of Dragon Ball Super, both the anime and the manga. Unsurprisingly, he had a lot to do with this form and it was actually his creation.
From what we know, Toriyama designed this form specifically for Goku Black and mentioned that it is his version of Super Saiyan, albeit the color is slightly different than that of Goku's regular Super Saiyan form. Toyotaro implemented this form in the story with Toriyama's supervision, much like many other things.
6 The Ability To Create Weapons
Black was seen using the ability to create multiple weapons when in this form. Although he didn't care enough to explain it, this was likely due to the fact that Super Saiyan Rosé offered him incredible Ki control due to Black being a real God himself.
When compared to Super Saiyan Blue, the Ki control of this form is far more impressive which is why Black gains the ability to create weapons using his Ki. On the other hand, Super Saiyan Blue required both Goku and Vegeta a lot of practice before they could even master half of what Black achieved in a short while.
Like everything else about Super Saiyan Rosé, the stamina that it offered to Black was much greater than what Super Saiyan Blue offered to Goku and Vegeta. Although some confuse it as one of the powers of the form, this has more to do with the fact that Black is a God and because of that, the Ki control of form is much greater than when a mortal does it.
For Goku and Vegeta to obtain a similar kind of control over their stamina, they had to go through long periods of training due to their bodies being that of mortals, unlike Black, whose body was that of a God.
4 Zamasu's Permanent Rosé Form
After fusing with Goku Black, Zamasu gained the power of using the Super Saiyan Rosé form as well. However, since Goku Black was already in the Super Saiyan Rosé form during the fusion, the Portara kept Fused Zamasu in the said form permanently.

In his case, however, Super Saiyan Rosé wasn't pink-colored at all. Instead, this form took on the color of Zamasu's own white hair. Powered by the immortality of Zamasu, Super Saiyan Rosé was more menacing than ever in this state.
3 Stronger With Rage
The Super Saiyan Rosé offers great power, which is something that every fan of the series knows, most likely. However, what's incredible is that this form allows Black to gain even greater power due to a buildup of rage. When fighting against an enraged Vegeta, Black was able to evolve his powers even further, likely driven by the hatred that he held for the humans deep in his heart.
Along with the big power multiplier that he gained, his ability to forge weapons, and arguably his control over his Ki evolved even further. This enabled him to turn the Violent Fierce God Slicer into a scythe, gaining even more tremendous power in the process.
2 Appearance In Dragon Ball Heroes
The Dragon Ball Heroes game doesn't shy away from putting in literally any character they wish into the game and giving them whatever powers they like. Goku Black's case wasn't all that different either. He was seen fusing with Broly to form what was called Karoly Black.
As expected, Karoly Black was able to utilize the power of Super Saiyan Rosé form as well, and he did it quite well, actually. Thanks to the power of the Legendary Super Saiyan form, Karoly was able to combine its power with Rosé to create something even stronger.
1 Its Name
Super Saiyan Rosé was named by Goku Black himself upon transforming into this state for the very first time. According to the anime, he named this form upon being intrigued by the naming scheme of Goku and the others.
Being mesmerized by its color and godly nature, Black decided to name this form Super Saiyan Rosé. Upon seeing it, Goku was confused as to why this form of Zamasu had pink colored hair and gave off a different aura.
