How to Select and De-Select Channels

You can use the Channel List to de-select channels that you do not receive, or which have content that you do not want to view or record. When you de-select a channel, it no longer appears when you channel up and down, and the programs on the channel do not appear in the Find Programs screen.

You can also select and de-select channels to suit your viewing preferences. For example, if you only want high-definition content, you can select HD channels, and de-select standard-definition channels.

To select and de-select channels, perform the following steps:

1. Go to the Channel List screen:

Devices on TiVo Experience 3 (Software Version: 20.x. or earlier)

2. Use the Up/DownArrows to select channels you want to select or deselect or you can press Channel Up/Down on your remote to move through the channels more quickly.
3. Press Select to add or remove the check mark next to the channels.
4. Continue doing this for all the channels you want to add or remove.

Note: Only the channels selected in the Channel List will display in your Guide, appear in live TV when you press Channel Up/Down, or when programming manual recordings. Also, if you select channels you do not receive or have not subscribed to, you will not see programming. You might see a gray screen or a message to contact your cable provider when you tune to these channels.

Series 2 Dual Tuner DVRs only

Analog cable: These boxes will automatically select the “cbl” version of all analog channels. TiVo recommends against selecting the "box" version of an analog channel. Doing so may interfere with the DVRs ability to record an analog channel and digital channel simultaneously.

Digital Cable: If your cable provider has gone to all digital you will need to select all the 'box' channels.

Satellite: If you have switched to satellite and have no analog cable or over-the-air channels, you will want to select all the 'sat' channels.

Important: Your Series2 DT can only record one digital or satellite channel at a time and will lose its dual-tuning capability.
