MapleStory Hoyoung Skill Build Guide (August 2021)

Are you looking for a skill build guide for Hoyoung in Maplestory? You’ve come to the correct place. This Anima thief class uses Tailsman energy to do massive damage to bosses and enemies. This class’s playstyle is interesting in that they use their humanity skills to activate Tailsman skills. Let’s have a look at the abilities of this modern class in the game.

Maplestory Hoyoung – Complete Guide

Playing with this class is simple throughout the early part of the game. Their already strong mobbing skill improves from 1st to 5th job, and significantly more when they reach level 200 and higher. This smoothens your game by giving you access to a large map for training. Additionally, due to the class’s buff length, the class can maintain 100% skill availability.

With the support of I-frame skills, the Hoyoung class can quickly escape 1-hit KO assaults and requires fewer resources to master. However, you must always maintain their DPS high because they rely on creating energy for Scroll and Talisman skills.

Sours: https://gamesadda.in/gaming/maplestory-hoyoung-guide/

Hoyoung is a luck based ANIMA class thief with the power of Sage magic. Personally, I think the Hoyoung class is a lot of fun and worth investing into. Hoyoung, as of this article, is near the top of the DPM Charts, consider maining one or at least making one that can solo bosses!

What to Know Before Making a Hoyoung

So, you want to make a Hoyoung? I think that’s a good idea since the Hoyoung class is easy to train and does a great deal of DPS. If you want to main a Hoyoung or make one that can do hard Bosses, you are going to have to learn the Combos in order to deal max damage. Hoyoung is a class that can boss easily without much investment because of its crazy high burst damage. The tough part of the class is managing the Gauge and Combos.

Hoyoung has its own bind (Tai Yu Clone), two invincibility frame skills (Dream of Shangri-La, Wrath of Gods), can hit the soft cap of Attack Speed (Green Pot, Decent Speed Infusion, Ritual Fan Acceleration), and has Dark Sight. This class has a ton of mobility and options when it comes to getting around. Also, you get to ride a Nimbus Cloud! That alone should be enough for your investment and love.

Hoyoung Shared Cash Shop

When it comes to the Cash Shop, the characters that are of the same Race can share NX items and Cash Shop items with each other.

Hoyoung is a part of the Anima race and shares his Cash Shop only with other Hoyoungs. Beast Tamer does not share a Cash Shop with Hoyoung.

Hoyoung Link Skill

bravado

Hoyoung’s Link Skill is called Bravado which is good for extra Ignore Enemy Defense (IED) and a damage boost when fighting against mobs with 100% HP.

Bravado

Ignore a portion of the enemy’s defense and inflict more damage against enemies that have full HP. (Max Level 2) (Link Skill)

  • Level 1: Enemy Defense Ignored: +5%, Damage: +9% against enemies with 100% HP. (Unlocked for others at level 70)
  • Level 2: Enemy Defense Ignored: +10%, Damage: +14% against enemies with 100% HP. (Unlocked for others at level 120)

Hoyoung’s Legion Effect is a flat LUK increase.

Rank B: Level 60-99

Hoyoung Best Inner Ability

Hoyoung’s best Inner Abilities are, Boss Damage for Prime line, Buff Duration for 2nd line, and Attack for 3rd line. Hoyoung has insane burst damage which makes it a good candidate for Bossing and with that comes a prime line for Boss Damage.

Buff Duration is the next line but might be one the most important since it will affect the skill Scroll: Butterfly Dream. Scroll energy is a little hard to manage so being able to have Butterfly Dream up as long as possible will greatly benefit you since it adds so much to your DPS.

The 3rd line should probably be Attack since this will be a class mainly dedicated to Bossing, you don’t need anything else. Drop Rate is a decent one if you need to settle.

Hoyoung Skill Build

This Hoyoung Skill Build is focused on leveling quickly and that you have a solid foundation of links. Still works if you don’t have the links but it will be a bit slower.

  10. Anima Warrior
  11. Anima Hero’s Will

Hoyoung 5th Job Max Order

When it comes to 5th Job, you’ll want to max out your perfect boost nodes. Hoyoung uses almost all their skills so you’re going to need a high level and a lot of nodes. The skills you need are:

  • Talisman: Clone
  • Scroll: Butterfly Dream
  • Humanity Skills
  • Earth Skills
  • Heaven Skills
  • Talisman: Seeking Ghost Flame
  • Thousand-Ton Stone
  • Scroll: Star Vortex
  • Scroll: Degeneration

When it comes to other 5th job actives, you’ll want to level up:

Decent Holy Symbol, Sage: Clone Rampage, Scroll: Tiger of Songyu, Sage: Wrath of Gods, Decent Sharp Eyes, Decent Advanced Blessing, Decent Speed Infusion and the other Thief skills like Venom Burst and Last Resort.

5th job skills are highly dependent on getting nodes, so you are going to need to have a farming character or have some drop gear on your Hoyoung.

Hoyoung Hyper Skills

When it comes to Hyper skills the Active Skills are all great and for passive skills, I chose the ones that would make Bossing the easiest.

Best Hoyoung Passive Skills

Empowered Harmony

Piercing Harmony (can be swapped for Empowered Gourd if you have enough IED and use this skill alot)

Boss Rush Harmony

Hasty Ghost Flame

Butterfly Rush

Hoyoung Hyper Stats

The best Hyper Stats for Hoyoung are, in order, Damage, IED, Boss Damage, Critical Damage, Critical Rate, and LUK. This is pretty universal but the difference comes when you’re training and looking to level.

If you’re looking to level you’ll want to get Bonus EXP and possibly Arcane Force so training is easier at VJ and beyond.

Hoyoung V Matrix and Perfect Boost Nodes Guide

The main Boost Node Trio that is used most often is:

  • Talisman: Clone
  • Humanity As-You-Will Fan/Gold-Banded Cudgel
  • Scroll: Butterfly Dream

These are the most important and most used skills so you want to get these to a high level as soon as you can. The next skills can be mixed and matched however you want, as long as you have them.

  • Earth: Ground-Shattering Wave/Stone Tremor
  • Heaven: Iron Fan Gale/Consuming Flames
  • Talisman: Seeking Ghost Flame
  • Thousand-Ton Stone
  • Scroll: Star Vortex
  • Scroll: Degeneration

The other skills you’ll need are: Sage: Clone Rampage, Scroll: Tiger of Songyu, and Sage: Wrath of Gods

Hoyoung Mobbing

When it comes to Mobbing, you’ll want to use different skills that have different attributes so that you can fill your gauge quickly and use other skills like the portal or butterfly. Hoyoung skills have a lot of reach and coverage so test out for yourself what a good rotation is. Ideally, you want to go to vertical maps where you can set your tiger down on a platform and then cover your own few platforms with Thousand-ton stone or Consuming Flames.

Hoyoung Bossing Combos

When it comes to Bossing, the combo you’ll want to use is :

  1. Heaven: Iron Fan Gale
  2. Heaven: Consuming Flames
  3. Thousand-Ton Stone
  4. Earth: Stone Tremor
  5. Humanity: Gold-Banded Cudgel

(Note that you cannot spam this since certain skills have cooldowns.)

This will require some practice but you’ll really want to get this combo down when trying to Boss.

After you use that combo you’ll use a Hoyoung Macro Combo which is, Humanity: As You Will Fan + Earth: Ground-Shattering Wave.

So when Bossing you’ll use the macro whenever your skills like Gold-Banded Cudgel are on cooldown and the main Combo when it’s off cooldown.

The other things to keep in mind when bossing are the actives like Clone, Clone Rampage, and Butterfly Dream. You want to keep these up as much as possible especially when you’re doing your big burst rotation.

Hoyoung Most Important Talisman and Scroll Skills

Hoyoung can be confusing because you can’t use all your buff skills at once and you are required to charge your gauge before using them. This means you’ll have to prioritize when using your Talisman and Scroll energy.

The best Talisman skills for training are Clone, SeekingGhost Flame, Evil Sealing Gourd and Warp Gate. You always want to try and keep these up or in use, while training.

The best Scroll skills for training are Butterfly Dream, Star Vortex, and Tiger of Songyu.

The best Scroll skills for bossing would be Butterfly Dream, Tigere of Songyu, Star Vortex, and Degeneration

Hoyoung Weapon, Secondary, Emblem Optimization

When it comes to Hoyoung, they have low IED which means it will probably be best if you go for 2 lines of IED on your WSE and 1 line of Boss and the rest Attack. If you’re on Regular Server you’ll want 2 lines of Boss instead and the rest Attack.

With the changes and removal of the Codex you are in need of IED more than ever, so that’s why you’ll want to get at least 2 lines of IED.

Is Hoyoung Good?

Hoyoung is a very good class and has so much potential. If you’re looking for a class that requires little management and presses a minimal amount of keys, this class is not for you. Hoyoung is not super intensive when it comes to mashing keys, like blaster, but you will need to keep track of your gauge and have the Bossing combo down perfectly which sucks for some people. Overall, I believe Hoyoung is a good class but does require a bit of effort in learning how to properly utilize certain skills.

MapleStory Hoyoung Skill Build Guide

Hoyoung is a Anima Thief class in MapleStory that yields the power of Talisman Energy to deal devastatig damage to mobs and bosses throughout Maple World. Hoyoung uses their Humanity skills to charge their Talisman Skills, giving the class a unique style of play. As a modern MapleStory class, Hoyoung benefits from great mobbing throughout the early levels and later laters.

Hoyoung Overview

Hoyoung was released in patch v.209 Glory: Strengthened Alliances, which is the patch after the Black Mage was defeated. Hoyoung is a thief class that utilizes the LUK stat and thief equipment in MapleStory. Hoyoung uses skills to generate special energy that allows them to use more powerful skills, including Talisman Energy and Scroll Energy. Whilst it sounds complicated, the class gently introduces the player to the different skill concepts throughout their Job Advancements.

Players who choose to play Hoyoung will notice the class is very easy to play in the early levels. Hoyoung has great mobbing skills that get better from 1st to 5th job. As Hoyoung gets to level 200 and above, their mobbing becomes excellent and seamless, allowing players to have great map coverage whilst training. Buff duration can help massively with Hoyoung, allowing the class to keep 100% up-time in their skills.

As a bossing class, Hoyoung does require a bit of management to make sure you keep DPS high. Hoyoung relies on generating energy for Scroll and Talisman skills, and during a boss this can be a bit harder than just regular training. They have really high damage when you master the class, without needing for lots of funding compared to older classes. They also have an i-frame skill, allowing them to dodge 1-hit KO attacks.
