Gurto, Elizabeth Ann

Age 94, a loving, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2021 in Mount Pleasant, SC. The greatest job of her life was being a full-time, loving mother and homemaker. Her homemade desserts, sweets, and her Christmas hardtack candy were legendary and enjoyed by many throughout the years. “Bea” was a member of Salem United Methodist Church in Wexford, PA for more than 50 years. She was a member of Turkeyfoot Valley Historical Society, Norwood Harrington #356 Order of the Eastern Star, and Great Crossings Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). A dedicated volunteer and member of the Pine Passavant Auxiliary as well as a member of the board affiliated with UPMC Passavant. “BAnn”, as she was known to her family, was the powerful matriarch of four generations. Her first and greatest love was Jim, to whom she was married to for 60 wonderful years. They were each other’s strength, traveled extensively together, and were partners in everything they did. Her spirited personality and passion for life made her an infectious person to be around and she left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered. She is survived by her daughters, Nancy Burford of Greensburg; Janice White (David) of Bellingham, WA, and Patricia Kolling Rice (Stephen) of Mt. Pleasant, SC. Loving grandmother of Daniel (Kendra) and David Burford, Amanda Purdie, and Kelley and Jennifer Kolling. Great-grandmother of Grant, Ella, and Sawyer Bea Burford. Sister of John W. Hyde (Ruth) of New York and Charles P. Hyde of Maryland. Age 95, formerly of Wexford, most recently of St Barnabas, Washington Place, on Thursday October 21, 2021; loving wife for 65 years of the late William J. Baur, Jr. ; dear mother of Kathleen Bodnar (James), Barbara Miller (David), Joyce Hart (Wayne), Mary Lynn Walsh (John), William Baur III (Beth), Jeffrey Baur (Kelly) and Richard Baur (Linda); sister of the late George, Joseph, Regis, and Sal Wagner, Mary Siebel and Anna Wagner; also survived by 18 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. Before her marriage to Bill, Jane worked at H.J.Heinz in the accounting department. She was a member of St. Alphonsus Church for 56 years where she was a volunteer at St. Alphonsus School and in charge of the candy table at the Christmas Bazaar for 25 years. She was a member of St Alphonsus Ladies Guild. She was a member at St. Richard's Church for the past 8 years and a member of the North Hills Squares. Pinkerton, Gretchen Walter

Age 77, formerly of Bradford Woods, PA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 9th, 2021 at Sunrise of McCandless in Pittsburgh, PA. Gretchen was the daughter of the late J. Charles and Janet Virginia Walter. She was born in 1944, in Lancaster, PA, and raised in Christiana, PA as the third child in a family of five girls and two boys. Gretchen graduated as Valedictorian from Octorara Area High School in Atglen, PA, where she earned several scholarships and academic awards as well as captained the women’s field hockey team. After high school, she attended Hood College in Frederick, MD, where she played on the tennis team and earned a Bachelor of Arts in English. After years of teaching English, Gretchen earned a Master’s degree in Library Science from the University of Pittsburgh in 1980. Gretchen is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Charles (Jack) Pinkerton as well as son Charley, daughter-in-law Janette Burton and grandson Jack of Boulder, CO. In addition, she is survived by three sisters and two brothers: Ezetta Walter of Lancaster, PA; Janet Walter Bratton of Christiana, PA; Letitia Walter Haythorne of Aiken, SC; J. Charles Walter Jr. of Lampeter, PA; and George Walter of Christiana, PA. Gretchen was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Carol Water. In a long and distinguished career as a public educator, Gretchen dedicated her professional life to instilling in her students a joy for learning and passion for reading. Upon graduation from Hood College, she taught middle school English in the suburbs of Philadelphia and Chicago. After receiving her Masters from Pitt, she joined the North Allegheny School District as a school librarian. She spent a year at Espe Elementary before moving to Ingomar Middle School. She retired from North Allegheny after 25 years of service. In retirement, Gretchen enjoyed volunteer work at North Country Meals on Wheels and was an active member of the Bradford Woods Women’s Club. She cherished her trips to Boulder to visit her son and his family. Highlights of these visits included skiing, playing tennis and riding horses with her grandson, Jack. It was at home, in Bradford Woods, where Gretchen found true joy; sharing those times with husband Charles and their beloved cats, Sidney and Samantha. She loved the natural setting that their home offered and spent much of her time observing and caring for the wildlife that abounds in the neighborhood. One of her greatest memories was witnessing a doe give birth in their yard - recalling the amazement of that baby walking not ten minutes after birth. A gathering of her extended family will be announced at a later date. Age 74 of Slippery Rock on Tuesday October 19, 2021. Born in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Charles J. and Mary C. Then; He is survived by his wife Kathleen Cole Then, his brother Eugene Then (Arlene) of Mars and nieces and nephews Robert Then, Joan Nicholson, Daniel Then, Matthew Then and Megan Hackworth. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Charles Then (Donna) of Penn Hills. Jim was a retired U.S. Army Master Sergeant who served with the 339th General Hospital and worked at the V.A. Hospital, Oakland, until his retirement. He was a member of the American Legion Post 161, Wexford. Jim lived his life to the fullest and never hesitated to help anyone who needed it. Age 88, of Wexford, passed on September 19, 2021. Daughter of Arthur and Dorcas “Dora”(Steele) Hall. Beloved wife for 67 years to the late Joseph Bullick. Step-grandmother of Rennique and Rianan Ellison and Lori (Derek) Geraci. Emma enjoyed life and was devoted to her family. She was a long time bookkeeper for Kratz Automotive . Eventually her love of baking led to her position as the head baker for the former Wexford Post Office Deli where her special brownies and carrot cake were a staple of the menu. She loved traveling with Joe to Ireland and to their getaways to Lancaster County. She was a long time member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. She was a physical education teacher and coach in the North Allegheny School District for many years. During that time she touched many lives through her teaching and coaching. Huston, Jr., Hance Harper 

Age 84, of McCandless PA, passed peacefully, surrounded by his family, on September 18, 2021.  Hance Huston was the son of H. Harper and Juniata K. Huston of McCandless. Hank was a lifelong resident of McCandless PA and also resided in North Palm Beach FL.  Hank is survived by his beloved wife, Jill Vivian Putnam Huston (62 years), his three sons Hance III (Anne), Scott and James (Chris), four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Hank attended the McCandless schools, Perry High School (Pittsburgh) 1954, Washington and Jefferson College (B.A) 1958, Duquesne University (M.Ed.) 1961 and the University of Pittsburgh (PhD) 1987. He was a charter member of the Memorial Park Community Church Sunday School and joined the church Easter Sunday, 1949. Hank was raised a Master Mason in April 1958 at Lodge 45 (F&AM) and served as Worshipful Master in 1964.  He was also a member of the Scottish Rite and Syria Shrine. Hank was employed with the North Allegheny School for 32 years and served as math teacher, guidance counselor, Assistant High School Principal, High School Principal and Assistant District Superintendent in charge of all support services and as contract administrator and negotiator for district employees. Following his retirement. Hank and Jill decided to see the world.  That included numerous trips to Europe, at least 20 cruises that included trips around Cape Horn, Australia, New Zealand, and China, and two trips to Japan. Hank wished that his family, relatives, friends, colleagues, and students all know the love of GOD and are successful in their pursuits of happiness. Burial services will be private.

Ackerman, Rene J.

Age 84, of Kiawah Island, SC, passed away Monday, September 13, 2021, at UPMC Passavant-McCandless hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. He was born on Aug 5, 1937 to Stella Pzonek Ackerman and Rene Joseph Ackerman of Jersey City, NJ. Upon graduation from high school (Saint Peter’s Prep) and college, Rene joined the U.S. Army as an officer where he used his college finance skills as a member of the Finance Corps branch of the Army.   Rene retired from the U.S. Army after completing 30 years of service and progressing to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. After active duty in the military, Rene was employed as part of the finance committee at the headquarters for Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) in Warrendale, PA.  He later accepted the position of Treasurer of Finance for American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) in New York, NY and spent 10 years living in Stamford, CT. Rene retired from work in 2001 and moved with his wife to their retirement home on Kiawah Island, SC.  During his retirement years, Rene enjoyed a competitive game of Bridge, was formerly the starter at Cougar Point golf course, enjoyed socializing with friends and neighbors, and could be seen proudly wearing the sweatshirts from the colleges his grandchildren attended while walking his dog Marley.  Rene was a faithful member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church on John’s Island, SC. Surviving is his wife of 37 years, Rebecca Miller Ackerman; his four children, Rene (Denise) Ackerman, Lynne Ackerman, Carol (Michael) Barton, Mary Beth (Thomas) Rieck; his three stepchildren, Elizabeth (David Brown) Hahn, Katherine (Lon) Lesniak, David (Christine) Hahn; his seventeen grandchildren; and his dog Marley Ackerman. Nolan, John F.

Passed peacefully surrounded by his family September 3rd, 2021. 79 years old of McCandless, born and raised on Russelwood Avenue in McKees Rocks, PA. Finally reunited with his dear parents John N. Nolan and Margaret (McCagh) Nolan and with his beloved sister and best friend - Janet (Nolan) Valentine. He graduated from Saint Francis de Sales School and proudly served in the 107th Artillery for the Pennsylvania National Guard. He worked as a manager for Baierl Chevrolet in the 1960s and sold Yellow Pages ads for Reuben Donnelley Co. For forty years, he bought and sold cars in the North Hills, and opened his own shop - Warrendale Motors. John will be dearly missed by countless friends, many he helped to support. His Irish charm and sharp wit will live on in the stories he told and memorable impressions he made. John made you laugh, feel special, valued, and important. He found something (or someone) in common with everyone and kept friends for life. Devoted to his faith, friends, and family, John is survived by his kids: Sean Nolan (Dusty), Heather Aeppli (Todd), and Todd Nolan (Erica). Cherished grandfather to Hope and Luke Nolan, Kate and Hank Aeppli, and Brody and Lila Nolan. Also survived by friend and brother-in-law James Valentine, loved nieces and nephews, and many cousins. Age 83 of Pittsburgh passed peacefully surrounded by family September 1, 2021. Proud father of Gregory John and Dena (Eric) King. Bob was born in Brooklyn, New York. In 1955, he graduated from East Conemaugh High School and went on to enlist in the United States Army where he served for 6 years. Bob then worked for many years in sales in Cumberland, MD, San Bernadino, CA and Pittsburgh, PA before retiring. Retired but not tired, Bob spent many years with family, friends and in the community. Bob was a devout Catholic who went to daily mass. He spent much of his time volunteering at the Carnegie Science Center, Saint Paul of Cross Retreat Center, and UPMC Passavant Hospital. Bob also enjoyed theater was part of theater groups performing locally. More than anything, Bob enjoyed spending time with his family. Whether it was sightseeing with his son or taking his grandchildren to train museums, Bob cherished every minute with his loved ones. Bob will be forever remembered as a loving father, caring brother, adoring grandfather and a kind and gentle friend and acquaintance. Grossman, William A. Jr

Age 75 of Wexford on Sunday August 8, 2021; Loving husband for nearly 46 years of Lois Plumley Grossman; dear father of James Mixter II and Randy Grossman; grandfather of James Mixter III, Randy Grossman Jr., Brandon Grossman, Madison Grossman, Riley Grossman and Cameron Grossman; brother of Susan Hirt (Rick) Cheryl Love (Greg) and Michele Love (Jeff). Carpenter, Claudette “Duffy”

Age 85, of Cranberry Twp., PA entered into eternal rest on July 31, 2021, after being in hospice care. Mrs.Carpenter is survived by her twin daughters, Denise Hunt of Burbank, CA and Diane Grohregin of Pittsburgh; three granddaughters, Brandy Brown (David; Waxahachie, TX), Chelsie Hunt (Burbank, CA), Chloe Lemke (Easton; Grand Rapids, MI); and soon to be three great granddaughters: Claudia and Grace Thiry (Waxahachie, TX) and Baby Lemke to arrive later this month (Grand Rapids, MI). She is also survived by a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. Mrs. Carpenter is preceded in death by her husband David Carpenter,  grandson Michael Cannon, son-in-law Emery Grohregin, sisters Bernice “Betty” Duda and JoAnn Dillner, favorite aunts, Mary Jane White and Mary Kleya, and parents George McIntyre and Edna (McGibbney) McIntyre.  Claudette spent the majority of her life working in the service industry. After her retirement, she and her beloved husband Davey purchased and became the proud proprietors of Dave and Duffy’s Doubletree Tavern. She was an active member of the Fredonia Presbyterian Church (led by its most gracious Pastor, Reverend Eric Peters and his beautiful wife Renee) and an enthusiastic choir participant until she moved closer to family. Even though she could no longer attend church services regularly, Eric and Duffy continued a friendship of faith, caring, and following our Lord. Claudette also loved spending time with her pets, working in her garden, and having coffee with friends. Claudette was a best friend  to many, and no one will ever fill her shoes, but hopefully those she loved and helped will pay it forward with love and kindness of their own. Pegher, Patricia E. “Pat”

Age 78, of Pine Township passed peacefully in the
comfort of her home on July 29, 2021. She finally succumbed to the debilitating
effects of inclusion body myositis which she courageously battled for twelve
years. Pat is survived by her husband, James “Jim” V. Pegher, their four children
Douglas of Yorktown, Virginia; Jamie of California, Maryland; Philip of Santa Rosa
Beach, Florida; Brett of Macomb, Michigan; and 12 beloved grandchildren. Pat loved the outdoors and enjoyed tending the garden and flowers. She kept a close watch for hummingbirds, bluebirds and other wildlife visitors. She found enjoyment spending winters in the Florida sunshine, golf outings and visiting her children. She treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren. Pat was an avid reader and started every day with prayer. Her well-worn, childhood Bible will be a cherished heirloom. Despite being born “of a different generation”, Pat quickly mastered the tech tools that kept her in touch with family and friends. She looked forward to her weekly family Zoom meetings. Even still, she never quite mastered the art of digital photography. Pat’s welcoming smile and selfless nature earned her the love of her brother, Tom, and sisters, Imogene and Kathy, as well as numerous life-long friends. Pat will long be remembered as the high school cheerleader who in 78 years never lost her spirit, even in the face of adversity. “I never heard her complain” is a mantra that friends and family attribute to this selfless, giving, God loving woman. . Age 97 of Cranberry Twp on Tuesday July 27, 2021 at home surrounded by her family. Born in Wexford, Pa she was the daughter of Andrew and Flora Meinert. She was a devoted member of St. Ferdinand Church. In addition, she was a member of the Mars V.F.W, Post 7505. Mary Rita enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with her family and friends.She was a wonderful loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who was loved by many. She was the fairest person you would ever meet. The room would light up with her smile. Mary Rita was known for the best baked beans and "Apple"cake ever made. She is survived by her children Rita Gable ( the late Edward), Sandy McCaulley (James Jr.), Ellwood Greiner (Michele), Gail Greiner, and Greg Greiner (Deb). A kind and gentle lady, Hilda Pegher passed away peacefully on July 18, 2021. For 65 years she was the beloved wife of her late husband Fran. Hilda was the mother of two daughters, Fran (Rich) Boguszewski, and Pattie (Robby) Theissen; grandmother of Nate Boguszewski, Andrea Ashcraft and Craig Theissen; and great grandmother of Grace and Sydney Theissen. Hilda was a woman of many talents: a professional upholsterer, skilled seamstress, and expert baker. Catherine Anne “Cathy” (Sheehy) (Myers) Frederick, 61, of Allison Park, Pa., passed away Wednesday, April 21, 2021, after a lengthy illness. Cathy was born May 13, 1959, in Pittsburgh, Pa., a daughter of the late Patrick F. Sheehy and J. Lynne and Dr. Charles Myers. Cathy graduated from Youngsville High School in 1977. She was previously employed by Schultz Ford, Krebbs Chrysler as administrative assistant and Notary and Dynamic Equipment. Cathy loved lighthouses and her personality reflected its symbolism of the unique way she could light up a room. She is remembered for her warmth and care for others. She was a music enthusiast, enjoyed attending concerts and she loved all things Michael Bolton. She enjoyed the ocean, beaches, the sun, boating and traveling to Cape Cod, Mass., Ocean City and Atlantic City, N.J. Cathy was ready anytime to go shopping and dining at Red Lobster. She is survived by her high school sweetheart and husband of 41 years, Kenneth S. Frederick. They were wed on July 14, 1979. Kroft, Rudolph

Age 97, formerly of Wexford, PA and currently of Franklin, MA, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2020. Rudy was the eldest of two children born to Pauline and John Krfogec, immigrants from Croatia, and brother to Pauline Zelak. He grew up in McKees Rocks, lived on Neville Island, and spent most of his life in Wexford - with his final years in Franklin, MA. Rudy was married to Helen C Kroft for 54 happy years. He worked as a Civil Engineer for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for 39 years where he led such projects as the Shenango and West Branch (Ohio) dams. Rudy was a decorated WWII veteran, a scout in the 24th Tank Battalion of the 13th Armored Division - a key unit that supported General Patton's Third Army in the Central Rhine Region. He earned two Bronze Stars for combat duty and was part of the team that liberated the Dachau concentration camp. Rudy loved to work in the yard, play cards with friends and family and entertain in their beautiful Wexford home of over 45 years. Rudy is survived by his daughters, Nancy Self, Leslie Wardrop and son Robert Kroft. He was blessed with four grandchildren, Jessica Self, Conner, and Kyle Wardrop and Eva Zosky; great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends. volunteered as a leader with the Boy Scouts of America for more than 35 years. He served in the US Navy 1952 – 1956, and was employed by Duquesne Light Company for 39 years until his retirement. Bill Smith loved people, helping others and being outdoors. He enjoyed walking the woods during hunting season; entertaining guests while vacationing in North Myrtle Beach; traveling the world with family and friends; and could be found riding his lawnmower each summer as he cared for his own and others’ lawns. Gilbert was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma (Donnelly) and brother Joseph and survived by his sister Marlyn Braun of Florida. He is survived by loving daughters Karen (Mark A.) Hudson and Linda (Jan K) Lewis. Gilbert had four grandchildren: Jason Lewis, Christopher (Maureen) Hudson, Sean (Amanda) Lewis, and Danielle Hudson. He also is survived by seven great grandchildren. Gilbert loved supporting his grandchildren by attending all their activities including numerous football, baseball, hockey, and cheerleading events. Gilbert served in the United States Army 42nd Rainbow Division as a Sergeant in the European theater of operations during WWII. Gilbert was part of forces that liberated the Dachau Germany Concentration Camp. He was an active member of St Alexis Church, the VFW Wexford, and the VFW in West View. Liz served as Vice-President of the Telephone Pioneers of America community service organization; she operated the Pioneer Store, entertained patients at local children’s hospitals as “Trixie” the clown, worked at many Special Olympic events, and established the Hug-A-Bear committee, making custom teddy bears that were donated to local and State Police departments for use with traumatized children. Liz was a talented artist and fabulous baker, known for her special cake and cookie ‘twists’. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Orchard Hill Church – ELEOS ministry ( A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

Roble, Denise M.

Age 65, left us unexpectedly on February 2nd. Beautiful daughter of Norma and the late Joseph Ford. Cherished sister of Debbie McCartan, Diane Gibson, Donna Kriberney, and Joe Ford (Amy). Beloved mom of Traci (Maura), Eric, and the late Ryan Roble. Proud Grandma and “best friend” to Quinn and Julian Roble. Loved by Randy Roble and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Denise was an active member of Allegheny Center Alliance Church and had a strong, unwavering faith. She was gentle, kind, and compassionate even in the hardest of times. She enjoyed coloring "mean queen" pictures with her granddaughter, snuggling her baby grandson, drinking a nice glass of wine, and laughing with her family. Denise was loved and adored by all who knew her. Her legacy will live on through her family and friends. Services will be private due to the COVID 19 pandemic. There will be a celebration of Denise’s life later this year. Arrangements with George A. Thoma Funeral Home, Inc., Wexford.

Haberstroh, Anton

Age 95, passed away on February 1st, 2021, at The Waters Senior Living Community in Warrendale, PA. He was formerly of Bradford Woods, PA, since 1955. Anton was a member of Carpenters Local 211, Tuetonia Maennerchor, and Bradford Woods Volunteer Fire Company. Anton was born September 1925, in Boll, Germany. He was the sixth of twelve children born to Josef and Wilhelmina (Wissler) Haberstroh. He married Lydia Glueckler in 1952 and was preceded in death by Lydia. He is survived by his 3 children and their spouses: Werner and Debra (King) Haberstroh of Port St. Lucie, FL, Robert Haberstroh of North Huntingdon, PA, and Heidi (Haberstroh) and Ken Hornstein of Vienna, VA. He is also survived by a grandchild, Ada Hornstein. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Bradford Woods Conservatory are welcome.

Lange, Ian Tomas

Born on a windy Saturday in Toronto , Canada in 1971 passed away too soon on a sunny Saturday January 9, 2021 in Tucson Arizona. Beloved son of Christine Lange and Francis Lange; survived by his cherished great aunt Helen, numerous cousins, aunts, uncles and loyal friends Steve Allen, Clarissa and Kendale, Kenny, Juan, Will and Taylor. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Elso and Florence Baggio and Mitch and Charlotta Lange. Ian loved animals, literature, live music, politics and drawing. Ian took joy in feeding people and he was a dedicated sous chef at Meat and Potatoes, Ciappinos, Industry Public House , Del's and Valozzis in Pittsburgh and The Palace in Prescott.AZ. He prepared food for the homeless in Cheyenne, WY and Douglas, AZ. Ian lived in Pittsburgh most of his young life then traveled and fell in love with the West, crisscrossing the country by train many times living in Colorado, Wyoming, Oregon and finally Douglas, AZ. This is where he adopted 3 stray cats Jack, Jill and Blanco who became his animal family. Ian was a kind and fearless person, those who loved him best knew his struggles. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in May at St. Alexis Church (St. Aidan Parish), Wexford. In lieu of flowers, please make any donations to Animal Friends or Resolve Crisis Center.

Warfel, John H., Jr

Our beloved son and brother,  passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 1, 2021 at the age of 46. John was the loving son of Rae Elizabeth Warfel (Wexford, PA) and the late Jack Warfel, cherished brother of Cindy Achenbach (Lewis), and doting uncle of Grace (Wheaton, IL). John was born in Media, PA, and raised in Glenolden. He moved to Wexford, PA during elementary school and remained a loyal fan of the Philadelphia Eagles. A graduate of Messiah College, John shared his talent with others in a variety of occupations, but his passion was game design. His creativity and mind for strategy shone in the diversity of collaborative and competitive games he designed. He created custom board games for corporations, educational card games for students, and engaging games for all to enjoy. Some of our favorite memories were spent playing John’s games with family and friends. John’s wit and sense of humor brought laughter wherever he went. He was a great cook and had recently started gardening herbs. John was a gentle soul throughout his life, and he will be sorely missed. As our brother in Christ, we know that his commitment to the Lord at a young age means we will be reunited with him in heaven, and we confidently look forward to that day. Family and friends will be warmly received on Friday, February 5, from 6-8 p.m. at the George A. Thoma Funeral Home, Inc. . Services are planned for Saturday at 11:30 a.m. in the Sylvania Hills Cemetery Chapel, Route 68, Rochester, PA, 15074.  Masks and social distancing required at both the funeral home and cemetery. 

McGreevy, Audrey J. (DeMaria)

Age 89, formerly of North Hills, on Thursday January 28, 2021; Loving mother of Robert Fleming, Patti Vitari, David Fleming ( his wife, Mary ) and Ellie Tourney (her husband David); sister of Deanna Betcher (her husband Henry) and the late Joann Robino and Jimmy DeMaria; also survived by 4 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. . Audrey was a devoted school teacher. Due to the pandemic, there is no visitation. On Thursday, January 21, 2021 age 62 of the Town of McCandless. Beloved husband of Leslie Hammond. Loving son of Lorraine Lunz (and the late Al Lunz). Dear brother of Carol Kesler (Al) and Steve Lunz (Kathleen). Also survived by his nieces, nephews and many family members. Gary was a police officer for over 30 years ending his career with the Town of McCandless Police Department. Respecting Gary’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service.           Sara Mae Burdine, 37, of Burton, WV died Friday, October 22, 2021 in J. W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

          She was born January 25, 1984 at East Liverpool, Ohio, a daughter of Terrell Greathouse and Virginia Belle Thayer Greathouse.





          Robert Ray Hennen, 80, of Holbrook, PA died Friday, October 15, 2021 in J. W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

          He was born April 25, 1941 in Center Township, Greene County, PA, a son of the late Stanley Hennen and Kathryn Main Hennen.





          Bobbie Jean Wade, 54, of Littleton, WV died Thursday, October 14, 2021 in the United Hospital Center in Bridgeport.

          She was born July 9, 1968 at Fairmont, a daughter of the late Raymond E. Wade and Ruth Ann Mackey Wade.

          Bob lasted worked as a flagger for a construction company.  Bobbie loved her dogs.





          James Albert Fox, 82, of Belington, WV died Thursday, October 14, 2021 in West Virginia Caring Hospice Center in Elkins.

          He was born December 16, 1938 at Littleton, WV, a son of the late Albert Fox and Wilda Kirkpatrick Fox.





          Ronald Edward Barnes, Jr., 63 of New Freeport, PA died Thursday, October 14, 2021 at his residence.

          He was born July 26, 1958 at New Castle, PA, a son Ronald E. Barnes and Doris Shoaff Barnes, of New Castle, PA.

          Ronald was self employed as a dental technician. He owned DSM Orthodontics.





          Lucille C. Johnson, 93, of Cassville, died Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at Mon Health Medical Center.

          She was born April 23, 1928, in Core, the daughter of the late George M. and Mary Moore Statler. 





          Patricia Ann Butcher Delaney, formerly of Hundred, WV passed away on October 11, 2021.  At the time of her passing, she was residing at the Pleasant Acres Christian Haven in Fairmont, WV.




LARRY R. BENNINGHOFF Larry Raymond Benninghoff, 65, of Hundred, WV, passed away Sunday, October 10, 2021 at his home. He was born May 27, 1956 in Seattle, WA, a son of the late Bernard A. Henggeler and Marjorie M.





          Wallace Edward Dittman, 72, of Pentress, died Sunday, October 10, 2021 in the Monongalia General Hospital.

          He was born November 17, 1948 at Mercer, PA, a son of the late Charles L. Dittman and Betty Lou Anderson Dittman.





          Edna Lemasters, 80, of Knob Fork, WV died Friday, October 8, 2021 in J. W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

          She was born April 17, 1941 at Pine Grove, WV, a daughter of the late John Elsey Titus and Audra L. Wildman Titus.
